Recognition that comes from employees<\/h2>\n

For these awards, a company doesn’t nominate itself. There’s no application file, no project portfolio, no presentation of everything we did well over the year. We’re evaluated by the people who work here, through an anonymous survey about how they actually experience their workplace.<\/p>\n

Luppa measures eNPS<\/strong>: how likely employees are to recommend the company as a place to work, along with their engagement and twelve different areas of satisfaction.<\/p>\n

he questions cover the things that make up everyday work – working conditions and benefits, communication, organization, relationships with colleagues, development opportunities, work-life balance, autonomy, leadership, how change is managed, and how well people understand the direction the company is heading.<\/p>\n

Alongside the ratings, there are open-ended questions. What works? What doesn’t? What would people change if they could?<\/p>\n

That part may well be the most valuable to us.<\/p>\n

A survey that doesn’t end up in a drawer<\/h2>\n

Once a year we run a larger Deep Dive survey<\/strong>, which takes around twenty minutes. Throughout the year, shorter Pulse surveys<\/strong> follow, which we use to check whether the changes we made based on the results actually changed anything, because there isn’t much point asking people how they’re doing if you then do nothing with their answers.<\/p>\n

That’s why we present the results to the entire team, and afterwards hold a workshop led by Jelena Jelusic<\/strong>. We go through what’s working, what isn’t, and what we could do differently. Out of that come concrete plans and changes that shape how we work in the months that follow.<\/p>\n

The survey also includes control questions, so answers filled in carelessly aren’t counted. If someone took the time to honestly say how they feel at work, we want that answer to mean something.<\/p>\n

Only after all of that does the comparison with others come in.<\/p>\n

Why this matters to us<\/h2>\n

Results are compared against market and industry averages. Top Workplace goes to companies scoring at least 15% above average<\/strong>. Best of the Best is stricter – it requires a result more than 25% above average<\/strong> and a place among the top three employers in your country and size category.<\/p>\n

The award is given separately across four markets: Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia, with companies competing within their size category.<\/p>\n

This year, 78 companies<\/strong> took part, with 45,779 employees<\/strong> casting their votes. That’s a large number of people, which makes this recognition mean all the more to us. Still, the reason this measurement matters to us isn’t the ranking alone.<\/p>\n

We build custom software. Our projects often run long, the problems we solve aren’t simple, and the same people work together for months or years on the same architecture, the same systems, the same products.<\/p>\n

On top of that, Factory X is a fully remote company<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After COVID, we faced challenges we simply didn’t have to the same degree before. How do you keep people connected when they don’t see each other every day? How do you know what’s really bothering them? How do you show that their feedback changes something, instead of just collecting it once a year through a survey?<\/p>\n

That isn’t easy, and we certainly don’t have an answer to every question.<\/p>\n

That’s why the fact that our score rises year after year means far more to us than any place on a list. It shows us that people notice the changes we make, and that the effort we put into how we work does come through.<\/p>\n

The people who design something here are often the same people who will finish it, ship it to production, watch how it performs, and keep building on it years later. In that kind of work, relationships, communication, and how people feel at work are not a side issue.<\/p>\n

If something in a team doesn’t work for long enough, sooner or later it shows up in the work itself. In code quality, in deadlines, in communication, in decision-making, and in how many problems get solved right away versus pushed down the road.<\/p>\n

That’s the biggest reason we don’t treat employee satisfaction as just another benefit that looks good on a careers page. It directly affects whether we can keep doing this work the way we want to, long-term – and that’s what makes these awards mean even more.<\/p>\n
